Course Description
This essential course empower participants to confidently recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns involving children and adults.
Course Aims
To raise awareness of the need to safeguarding adults and children and to have knowledge and understanding of relevant laws and procedures for protecting and reporting in your organisation and in accordance with RQIA minimum standards.
Course Objectives
- Recognise and respond appropriately to child and Adult safeguarding issues
- Appreciate own role and the role of others within their organisation using their safeguarding policies and procedures
- Recognise that harm is wrong and that it should not be tolerated
- Recognise the signs of harm from abuse, exploitation and neglect
- Reduce opportunities for harm from abuse, exploitation and neglect to occur
- How and when to report safeguarding concerns to the Child Protection Designated Officer or Adult Safeguarding Champion, HSC Trusts or the PSNI
