Course Description
SafeTalk is a suicide alert training session to equip you with the skills to handle such sensitive situations effectively. This training aims at enhancing your abilities to identify signs, engage with and provide the relevant aid to individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts. you’ll be empowered with strategies to connect them with professional help. Attendance is essential for dental professionals striving to make a significant contribution to mental health care.
Course Aims
To educate communities on suicide and promote intervention.
Course Objectives
At the end of this session delegates should be able to:
- Identify people thinking of suicide
- Overcome barriers in talking about suicide
- Identify reasons we may miss, dismiss or avoid people having thoughts of suicide
- Practice using the 4-step model of suicide alterness.
- Identify how to connect people at risk of suicide with further appropriate help
Course Learning Content
This training session is intended to increase community suicide intervention resources by equipping individuals to undertake first-response actions for those with thoughts of suicide.
