Course Aims
To provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills required to confidently integrate intraoral scanning into everyday clinical practice, improving the accuracy, efficiency and predictability of digital workflows.
Course Objectives
At the end of this session the delegates should be able to:
- Understand the principles and benefits of intraoral scanning.
- Recognise the indications, limitations and common clinical applications of digital impressions.
- Develop a predictable scanning protocol for both single-tooth and full-arch cases.
- Identify common scanning errors and understand how to avoid or correct them.
- Appreciate how intraoral scanning integrates with modern restorative, orthodontic and implant workflows.
Course Learning Content
This session combines an evidence-based lecture with practical hands-on experience, covering the fundamentals of intraoral scanning, digital impression techniques, scan strategies, data acquisition, common errors and troubleshooting. Delegates will explore clinical applications including restorative dentistry, clear aligner therapy, implant dentistry and digital smile design, before gaining supervised hands-on experience using contemporary intraoral scanners to develop confidence in capturing accurate digital impressions.
