4 Day Minor Oral Surgery course

Course Aims

• To improve understanding of the medical conditions that can affect the MOS procedures
• To enhance skills in the patient assessment & consent for MOS procedures
• To improve understanding & skill to perform surgical extractions & wisdom tooth removal
• To understand MOS procedures e.g apicectomy
• To manage trauma patients
• To improve skills in managing complications associated with MOS procedures
• To improve understanding of managing soft tissues

Course Objectives

At the end of this programme the participant will:

• Appreciate medical conditions which can affect the delivery of MOS procedures by GDPs
• Indicate the do’s and don’ts of MOS procedures in general dental practice
• Assess & complete consultations for MOS procedures in general dental practice
• Indicate how to perform procedures e.g. surgical extractions, wisdom teeth removal, apicectomies & management of trauma
• Demonstrate knowledge in managing complications associated with MOS procedures in general dental practice Develop understanding of soft tissue management

This hands on workshop will enhance delivery of minor oral surgery techniques.
