Assessments – What to Expect – ADEPTS, DOPS, Reflective Logs

Course Aims

• increase sources of feedback on clinical cases, improving reliability of any outcomes.
• improve trainee assessment skills.
• help trainees benchmark their own performance in relation to peers.
• provide case examples which may help trainees manage similar cases they encounter in the future.
• demonstrate clinical communication skills.
• utilise evidence base to justify decisions being made.

Course Objectives

• develop self-assessment skills.
• develop skills in critical refection and highlight future developmental needs.
• improve confidence in own clinical skills and benchmarking performance.

E-portfolio – What to Expect and Experiences within the Practice

Aim

• To provide a comprehensive introduction to the e-portfolio; to include the use of the e-portfolio that documents and supports the learning process during the training period.

Objectives

• discuss the key elements of the portfolio.
• demonstrate an understanding of how to use the portfolio to support the development of reflective practice.
• define their responsibility in completion of the portfolio to ensure that the training portfolio is an accurate, up-to-date record of their progress and development.
