To equip dental hygienist & therapists with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to safely and effectively deliver air polishing therapy.

Understand the principles and mechanisms of air polishing therapy.
Identify the indications and contraindications for air polishing therapy.
Compare air polishing with traditional methods of stain and biofilm removal.
Select appropriate powders and equipment based on patient needs and appliance types.
Demonstrate safe and effective air polishing techniques.
Apply infection control and health and safety protocols during air polishing procedures.
Evaluate patient outcomes and deliver appropriate aftercare advice.

Describe the clinical principles of air polishing and its role in patient care.
Explain the differences between supragingival and subgingival air polishing powders and when each is appropriate.
Identify suitable air polishing powders and understand their properties and uses.
Perform air polishing therapy effectively.
Assess patient suitability and manage risks associated with air polishing therapy.
Demonstrate effective patient communication regarding the procedure, benefits, and post-care.
