Course Description
Dental photography workshop. Please bring along your camera if you have one, not essential.
This is also scope of practice development opportunity for dental nurses.
Course Aims
- To equip dental professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to capture high-quality, standardised clinical photographs for diagnosis, treatment planning, patient communication, medico-legal documentation, and practice marketing.
Course Objectives
- Identify the essential equipment required for clinical dental photography.
- Set up and adjust DSLR or mirrorless cameras for optimal intraoral and extraoral images.
- Apply standardised photography protocols to ensure consistency across cases.
- Position patients, mirrors, and retractors effectively to capture all required views.
- Manage common technical challenges such as glare, fogging, and focus errors.
- Understand and apply the principles of white balance, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.
- Organise, edit, and store images securely and ethically in compliance with GDPR.
- Use photographs effectively for patient communication, treatment planning, and marketing.
