Course Description

Course Aims

  • Recognise common medication groups that alter dental treatment planning.
  • Identify when to treat, when to modify treatment, and when to seek medical advice.
  • Apply current SDCEP/NICE/RCS-FDS principles to bleeding risk, infection risk and local anesthesia.
  • Document risk discussions, liaison and hemostatic measures clearly

Course Objectives

  • Have a better understanding of treating patients on biological drugs.
  • Be able to recognise the effect medication has on treating patients.
  • Be able to know what to do why the patient have postoperative problems.
  • How to alter safely alter patients medication when having dental treatment carried out.
  • How to find information regarding medications.
