Course Aims

  • Improve confidence in case selection and placement of Hall technique pre-formed metal crowns in children.
  • To help you manage children in pain more effectively and to know what to do if you can’t.

Course Objectives

At the end of this session delegates should be able to:

  • Understand background to Hall technique crowns.
  • Describe indications and contraindications for Hall technique.
  • Understand behavioural management techniques for placing ‘Hall crowns’.
  • Demonstrate fitting a Hall technique crown in simple steps.
  • Understand causes of pain in paediatric patient.
  • Recognise signs and clinical presentations of a child in pain.
  • Discuss treatment options for children in pain.
  • Have an awareness of how to manage co-operative and non-co-operative children in pain.
  • Understand other factors involved in treating children.
