Course Aims
- By the end of the session, dentists undertaking GDS treatment should have a better understanding of SDR codes and associated record keeping.
- To learn more about the fundamental principles behind achieving an aesthetic, functional and predictably successful outcome for patients with damaged or missing teeth.
Course Objectives

- Discussion of the most commonly used SDR codes
- Clarification of the more complex issues such as time bars
- Interpretation of SDR codes to facilitate the Prior Approval process and both probity and RDS reviews of records and treatment.
- Understand the ‘smile design’ concept and how hard and soft tissue factors influence treatment planning decisions.
- Understand the ‘restorative spiral’ and the rationale for employing minimally invasive techniques where possible.
- Understand factors that contribute to restoration longevity.
- Understand the importance of shared decision making in the treatment planning process.
