Course Aims
- This lecture will help you understand diagnosis and management of common oral mucosal lesions, oral potentially malignant lesions and oral cancer presentation.
Course Objectives

- Record a detailed history of an oral lesion including site, duration, clinical description, risk factors, prior treatment that was undertaken and follow-up.
- Undertake a complete intra-oral and extra-oral examination.
- Recognise common benign lesions affecting the oral mucosa.
- Identify potentially malignant lesions affecting the oral mucosa.
- Understand the role of special investigations in diagnosis and management.
- Know when and how to refer to an Oral medicine Unit.
- Understand the red flag referral process.
