Aim
To provide a practical introduction to the key issues in dental ethics and law.
Objectives
- To discuss the principles of dental ethics and law.
- To explore the importance of good record keeping.
- To discuss the application of the GDC Standards for the Dental Team.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session delegates should appreciate how the principles of dental law and ethics can be applied to dental practice and understand ways to minimise dento-legal problems.

Aim
By the end of the session, dentists undertaking GDS treatment should have a better understanding of SDR codes and associated record keeping.
Objectives
- Discussion of the most commonly used SDR codes
- Clarification of the more complex issues such as time bars
- Interpretation of SDR codes to facilitate the Prior Approval process and both probity and RDS reviews of records and treatment.
