Course Aims
- To equip foundation dentists with the knowledge and skills to practice dental radiography safely and effectively.
- To look at why clinical photography is so important for practice.
- To review situations where clinical photography is useful.
- To demonstrate how to take good photos every time.
Course Objectives
- Understand radiation regulations and who they protect.
- Organise and maintain a dental radiography quality assurance (qa) programme.
- Understand and apply routine positioning techniques used in dental radiography.
- Apply current guidelines to the quality assessment of dental radiographs.
- Recognise and correct common image faults in dental radiography.
- Modify radiographic techniques according to individual patient needs.
- Identify areas of clinical photography use in everyday practice.
- Understand what situations are indicated to photograph.
- Identify ways to improve the dentists attending photographic skills.
- Understand the importance and value of clinical photographs.
Course Learning Content
Dental radiography training for 2 groups of foundation dentists. Includes several lectures (radiation protection, qa etc) and practical teaching on routine radiographic techniques.
Clinical and practical presentation to explain and demonstrate the principles, techniques and applications of clinical photography.
