Course Description
This practical course is designed to equip dental professionals with the knowledge, skills and confidence to support patients in taking an active role in their oral health. Through a focus on effective communication, health coaching and shared decision making, participants will learn how to build collaborative relationships with patients, encourage self-management and promote positive behaviour change. The course combines theory with practical training to help clinicians have respectful, patient-centred conversations that empower individuals to make informed decisions about their oral health.
Course Aims
To equip dental professionals with the knowledge, skills and confidence to support and empower patients to take an active role in their oral health through effective communication, health coaching techniques and shared decision making approaches.

Course Learning Content
This course will cover the principles and practical application of health coaching, self management education, empowering communication, shared decision making and behaviour change in dental practice.
It will focus on developing the skills needed to support patients to take an active role in their oral health through respectful conversations and motivation to self manage.
