Course Aims
For Dentists and radiographically qualified Dental Care Professionals who act as Radiation Protection Supervisors.
This webinar is designed to comply with GDC requirements and provide recommended CPD for the participants. It will cover many of the key points of IRR 2017 with updated Guidance increasing the confidence of Radiation Protection Supervisors in practice and salaries service.
The IRR17 is made under the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, and as such provide a legislative framework for the protection of persons who are exposed to ionising radiation during the course of their work activities, and other persons, such as members of the public, who may be incidentally exposed.
Course Objectives
- Discuss the requirements of IRR17
- Explore the radiation protection principles and procedures.
- State the arrangements in the local rules and contingency plans.
- Demonstrate how to supervise the work safely within the workplace.
- Demonstrate how to maintain the precautions that will restrict exposure to staff and other persons within the practice
