Course Description
This course for Orthodontic Therapists highlights the principles and practice of fixed orthodontic retention. It covers the rationale behind long-term retention following orthodontic treatment, including the biological and mechanical factors that influence tooth stability. Participants will explore the various materials used in fixed retainers, such as wire types and bonding agents, and their clinical indications.
The course also provides practical instruction on how to place bonded retainers safely and effectively, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on guidance, participants will gain confidence in delivering retention care as part of comprehensive orthodontic treatment.
