Course Description

Course Aims

  • To introduce magnification devices.
  • To help newly qualified dentists to manage endodontic failure in practice.
  • To inform recently qualified dentists on how to communicate effectively with a dental laboratory and inform about workflows for analog and digital cases.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the benefits of magnification devices in endodontics.
  • Shape and fill simulated root canals with WaveOne Gold and GuttaCore utilising dental loupes.
  • Understand the definition and causes of endodontic failure.
  • Understand the various ways to manage endodontic failure.
  • Decide when to treat, not treat or refer endodontic cases that have failed.
  • To improve communication.
  • To reduce the number of queries that arise on cases.
  • To improve workflow of dental laboratory work.
  • To reduce turnaround times.
  • To avoid unnecessary delays with patient cases.
  • To improve patient outcomes.

Course Learning Content

This lecture and hands-on course is intended to encourage newly qualified dentists to utilise magnification devices when carrying out root canal treatment, and to promote safe and effective management of endodontic failure.
