Course Description
This course is being run in association with Aoife McSwiggan from
Dentsply Sirona and Karl Ronan from SwordFish Medical Ltd
Course Aims
- To introduce magnification devices.
- To help newly qualified dentists to manage endodontic failure in practice.
- To inform recently qualified dentists on how to communicate effectively with a dental laboratory and inform about workflows for analog and digital cases.
Course Objectives
- Understand the benefits of magnification devices in endodontics.
- Shape and fill simulated root canals with WaveOne Gold and GuttaCore utilising dental loupes.
- Understand the definition and causes of endodontic failure.
- Understand the various ways to manage endodontic failure.
- Decide when to treat, not treat or refer endodontic cases that have failed.
- To improve communication.
- To reduce the number of queries that arise on cases.
- To improve workflow of dental laboratory work.
- To reduce turnaround times.
- To avoid unnecessary delays with patient cases.
- To improve patient outcomes.
Course Learning Content
This lecture and hands-on course is intended to encourage newly qualified dentists to utilise magnification devices when carrying out root canal treatment, and to promote safe and effective management of endodontic failure.
