Course Description

Teamwork and Leadership Day for Foundation Dentists, Educational Supervisors and Dental Nurses

Aims

To develop delegates teamwork and leadership skills, enabling them to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, communicate confidently, and contribute positively to patient care and workplace culture.

Objectives

• Recognise the key principles of effective teamwork and leadership in healthcare settings.
• Understand the roles, responsibilities, and contributions of different team members.
• Develop communication skills that support collaboration, trust, and shared decision-making.
• Explore different leadership styles and how they can be applied in practice.
• Demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills in team-based scenarios.
• Identify factors that influence team performance and strategies to enhance team effectiveness.
• Reflect on personal strengths and areas for development as a team member and leader.
• Apply leadership and teamwork skills to improve patient care, safety, and professional practice.

Learning Content
