Course Aims
- To update and improve orthodontic diagnostic skills.
- To update the dental practitioner on orthodontic treatment techniques and how they can support their patients who are undergoing orthodontic treatment.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course the participant:
- Will be able to carry out an orthodontic assessment including an indication of treatment needs.
- Will be able to list and discuss the main occlusal and orthodontic problems to look for in the developing occlusion.
- Will know why and when to refer orthodontic patients and where and who to refer to.
- Will be able to identify with orthodontic emergencies and how to manage them.
- Will be able to describe contemporary orthodontic treatment techniques.
- Will be able to discuss the limitations and potential adverse effects of orthodontic treatment.
