Course Aims

• To understand the different types of vulnerable groups that Dentaid cares for.
• To consider the barriers these groups face in relation to oral and general health care.
• To learn more about the importance of trauma informed care for these groups.

Course Objectives

• By the end of the session delegates should have a good understanding of the work that Dentaid carries out and the importance of this work in relation to some of the most vulnerable groups.
• Delegates should finish with a wider understanding of the challenges these groups face when considering accessing healthcare and the toll this can take on their oral and general health.

Course Learning Content

We will be considering some of the most vulnerable groups in society who face additional barriers and challenges to accessing oral care, and look at how those barriers can be broken down. We will be looking how the impact of oral care, and increasing trust in healthcare can positively impact their lives.
